Location and Climate:

Isabela, the largest island in the Galapagos, is situated on the western side of the archipelago. The island’s climate varies from the cooler, misty highlands to the warmer, dry coastal areas, with temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C (68°F to 82°F).

History:

Formed by the merging of six volcanoes, Isabela has a unique geological history. It was once a penal colony, and remnants of this era, like the Wall of Tears, still stand today.

Wildlife:

Isabela is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. The island is home to giant tortoises, marine iguanas, and the Galapagos penguin, the only penguin species found north of the equator. The marine life is equally diverse, with opportunities to see manta rays, sharks, and sea turtles.
